Alta Corn?

So guys I'm looking to get out one day this week and I'd like to ski some real corn over at Alta. Based on your experiences what day and time of day this week looks best for optimal corn skiing. Thanks in advance.

I'd wait till Friday when you can use the Snowbird tram for most of your vert gain. Tomorrow (Wed) is supposed to be the coolest day this week, so maybe not choice till a little later. But basically anything east facing - Backside - or SE facing - Yellow Trail - between 9:30 and 11 - really depends on how warm it gets and how quickly and how much of a refreeze there was the night before. Elevation will play a factor as well. I wouldn't hit any of the Baldy chutes till noon. This past weekend, Snowbird didn't open the High Baldy traverse till about 1pm and didn't allow skiing Pipeline before 11a (although you could start the significant* hike before then).
Something on West Rustler or High Rustler won't go into shape till after 2p.

[*: significant for most of us mere mortals. If you're an animal like Salida, then you can manage it in under an hour  ]

I would advise getting to the Snowbird base very early, just in case the weather is unexpectedly warm and you would need to get over to Alta ASAP. Talk to patrol about actual weather, winds, etc. With that current info maybe call one of the people here on FTO who's been there to get a best estimate on timing.
