Alta January 19

"Only" 6" overnight on top of the three from yesterday but it snowed furiously from 6:00 to about 11" and by the the time it cleared off around lunch it was classic Alta deep. Early laps were on the frontside to maximize powder vertical: Racecourse, Sunspot, Lone Pine. Then flipped over to Thirds to capture more goods. Even went all the way out to High Rustler after lunch. High Rustler was still a bit crusty but at least I didn't hit any rocks getting there. Everything else was great and it was so uncrowded. Clearly, this "Crocker Curse" is real. It was the best day of the season (again, wasn't here for the Christmas week storm but the crowds were huge, Collins shut, and it took three hours to get out of the canyon that day).

=D> I'm jealous! Damned meetings.

And FWIW, I got out of LCC in 45 min on that Christmas Week storm day. It wasn't that bad.

Yea, good day. Skied bell to bell with my cousin and his gf from Denver. Awesome times.

Marc,

Maybe you should plan to take a day off after Tony Crocker visits. If he gets only 55% of expected snowfall (as posted on an earlier string) then shouldn't regression to the mean increase your odds of scoring a powder day after he leaves?
