Alta January 20

3" overnight and few more in the morning reset things nicely. The low overnight total kept the rabble away, leaving soft turns everywhere. Backside opened around 12:30; a line up of around 75 was waiting at the High Notch gate. I was probably about 40th; passed on Yellow Trail as it had a been wind affected and jumped in the first chute after the notch. About 4 turns in the debris and then a clean 1500' vertical to the road in about 20" of medium density snow. After going 'round the world got back to top of Collins moments after the Ballroom rope drop. Took an early shot in the trees which was untracked and bombed back to the angle station before the crowd. Decided that everyone was hitting Balroom so over the Backside again. To my delight, the lower traverse had not yet opened; this meant semi-fresh to the road again. Did a bunch more Backsides and even a Glory Hole (debris) before quitting at 3:30.

Don't carry a camera; the pictures of the day on the Alta website will tell the story (or even embellish it a bit).
