Today I went to Alta... in Quebec ! It's a totally unknown ski area between St-Sauveur and Tremblant, north of Montreal. It's a very very wild mountain that just opened for the season yesterday... so : POWDER There was 12-18 inches of powder in the glades and the skiing was really good, everywhere on the mountain. After the 600 meters high of Burke, going to the 600 feet high of Alta was a big difference, but for the challenge, Alta is very hard to beat in Quebec. There is probably just "La Réserve" that represent a bigger challenge. Some extreme glades were unskiable cause of the grass they didn't cut in some areas for at least 6-7 years, but there was 15-20 very interesting expert & extreme runs and glades, today ! One fun thing of the ski area is that they didn't update the trail map since about 5-6 years, so there is some new trails, not shown on maps, that are almost unknown of the skiers of the area... so I made the first tracks !! of the season in about 6-7 semi-official trails.

For the challenge, one of the greatest ones : Slalom Geant (I still try to find where to do Giant Slalom in that trail)

The best trail of the day : Slalom (not the same as Slalom Geant, but I also wonder where to do slalom there...)

One of the most beautiful gladed line in the province : The Secret glade

Finally, no, there is not only some crazy trails in the area. In fact, there is 3 really nice beginner trails, but this is the beginning of "La Principale" (traduction : Main trail), which is a moderated expert run.

The snowdepth is enough good, actually, and if it doesn't rain like last year, the conditions will be incredible in 1-2 storms I'm just too eager for that !
