Day 28: A groomer day.

Firm and fast groomers at that, and I sure didn't want to venture very far off of them. After a few blue sky moments of sun first thing this morning skies were grey from a splitting storm, yielding nothing more than a few inches of overcast, and light was therefore as flat as the groomers. Few others seemed inspired as both Alta and Snowbird were empty for a Sunday. If anyone with any pull is listening, it's official: we need some fresh snow. This high pressure has lasted long enough.

We spent the morning at Alta cruising around, having coffee and exploring some areas we haven't been yet this season, like the lower Castle apron.

To mix things up a bit, shortly before noon we decided to make a trip around the world from east to west, starting on Supreme and ending on another lift none of us had yet visited this season: Gad 2.

We met up with Abby, Jenny and rdwore on Hidden Peak and took a few last runs with the former two before they return later this season. After lunch at the Rendezvous, where the salad bar is no longer priced by weight =D> we headed back up the P-Dog, through the tunnel, down into Mineral and home to our car at Wildcat. By 2:15 we had all had enough.

$8.50 for the medium bowl and $12.50 for the large, but Bobby and I each proved that you can stack a lot of stuff in the medium. Use pita bread or carrot slices to build a solid foundation for layer #2.

What we got for $8.50 each would've cost $14-15 each under the old pricing scheme.

Confidence is increasing that I'll have my wish by Friday:

And in all fairness it's been only 9 days since this photo of rdwore was taken:

He alleges that the calls, emails and letters in response to his new found fame generated by that photo are still pouring in from women all over the world.

That's only an amateurish facsimile.

"Ridge off the California coast will remain nearly stationary through Tuesday, keeping a northwest flow in place. A significant moisture plume is riding over this ridge and will push into Northern Utah this evening. This moist flow associated with weak warm advection will continue into Tuesday afternoon before dissipating. The ridge will move over the area Wednesday in advance of a cold trough moving in Thursday afternoon and remaining over the area through the weekend. Bring it ON!"
