Days 28 & 29: I'm not supposed to get a goggle tan in January.

But I did. I'll be brief. Snow stayed good all weekend, even with warm temperatures both days and intense sun on Sunday. Base depths remain solid and for the most part surfaces remained dry and chalky. We had most of our usual crew out, plus Scotty visiting from DC and Philip, the president of Craigieburn Ski Field in New Zealand, whom we met on Saturday.

Keyhole, High Boy and Bombay Chute were the highlights on Saturday, and both Backside and West Rustler (particularly Santa Claus) on Sunday. I'd sure like to see a fresh dump, though! This is turning into a long dry spell.

Sorry, I didn't take a single photo.

Of course there's a prolonged dry spell. I'm arriving today for skiing Thu, Fri and Sat!
One day here was enough for us. We're driving home today. But we've been on the road almost 3 weeks and we both have colds, so an easy call.

I would not be surprised if January 2015 was one of the worst winter months for western snowfall in quite some time. Utah had the worst conditions of our trip, but of course it's vastly superior to the ugly conditions along the entire West Coast right now.

We're closing in on four weeks without a local report. With all this free time, I bet that Admin has already trained the new pup to cook him a five-course meal AND empty the ashtrays.
