Day 32: You couldn't find a bad run today if you tried.

Seriously. A lot of other folks apparently thought so, too, for the up-canyon traffic this morning was insane. I left the house at 8:40 and it was already backed up to the fire station on Wasatch Blvd. You'd swear that it was a powder day or something.

The vast majority of cars pulled off the road at Snowbird. Although the Alta Wildcat lot filled up we never had a lift line all day, and those who were skiing were mostly sticking to the groomers. Most of our runs today were enjoyed in wonderful solitude.

I got to the canyon at 8:20 and the conga line had already begun. I pulled into a usually vacant bypass road at 8:45 and found it filling fast, I had to park above the bottom of Whodunnit. They were running a bump comp down Lightening Tree Gully, the Mom's and Dad's were filling the place up. Snowbird was pretty vacant on-hill, I skied till noon and didn't encounter any lift lines.

I booted up this morning, pulled out my helmet/goggles/gloves, to find ONE glove, heh. Luckily Skifishbum was coming up to meet me and brought an extra pair. We stumbled across the Gordy campers and blasted by them giving the mandatory nickel call out.

I always keep a tote behind the driver's seat with spare gloves, goggles, avi gear, etc. ... mostly because I can be an airhead sometimes.

We went out right at the secret spot. Took Kay, Arnie, Dwore and Nelson over there. Untracked all the way. Also out Patsy Down the gully. Fabulous.
