Day 3: The return of the Powder Posse

Today we were back to our uneven chair load of 5 for the first time this season: Bobby Danger, Tele Jon, Skidog, AmyZ and yours truly. At least until Bobby split after a few runs with some issues presumably from the oysters last night.

The forecast for today was for a few inches of mostly cloudy. Instead, we got a few inches of heavy, wet graupel and its meatiness smoothed everything over. The base hasn't yet been skied into oblivion, either, so it rendered some positively glorious skiing.

And once again Greeley delivered. The mountain wasn't busy today at all in the first place, and hardly anyone else was venturing out the High Traverse -- on our second trip out the T just before lunch there were no tracks visible in the snow as I approached Piss Pass.

I opted to decide whether or not to keep skiing while we ate lunch at Goldminer's, and the ache in my quads as I got up for a Powerade refill convinced me to call it a day. I want to ski again tomorrow. As I drove down canyon the snowfall turned to rain at Snowbird Entry 3.

Our track from today looks nearly identical to yesterday's:

Glad its starting out way better than last year... might have to come out earlier than planned...season starts at Killington the 25th this year for me but I could take advantage of an early season trip with the ski club in December...
