Day 5: An inch makes a real difference.

(Most guys wish that was true.)

Light to moderate snow fell throughout the morning, and it really made a difference. It was dense, thick and creamy. It did wonders to improve surfaces on anything low angle.

We spent much of the day lapping Razorback to Cabin Hill, where we found smooth subsurfaces and new snow to cushion the turns. I also got a couple of laps on Baldy Shoulder for the first time this season, including Harold's and Armpit, both of which ski exceedingly well. I skied until my legs gave up around 2:30 p.m.

All weekend the place was absolutely deserted. I don't think there were 50 customers at the opening on Saturday, and there weren't many more than that today. We had all the elbow room we needed to roam.

A bamboo forest on Razorback. Anyone who has ever seen this run in the summer knows that this is necessary in early season.

As uncrowded as you'll ever see Devil's Elbow

Forgot to mention that the Jamesdeluxe Memorial Bootpack is officially open.

DAY..10.. to bad so many people picked up on what we were skiing on razor back , that was a smooth wind buff run yesterday when we skied it the first time . this afternoon it became bumps with alot of chewed up wind buff between the bumps . and as admin spoke of the bamboo forest i'm in complete agreement if a person was to see what they were skiing over they'd probably say no way , i mean there isn't a single blade of grass up there , 100% rock that's been ground smooth as glass by the glacier that sat upon all that rock . all in all a great way to end the thanksgiving weekend a couple more quiet weekends to go before the christmas crowds show up . think snow

LOL, I saw that. I still remember the father with his son *on his back* passing me halfway up.
