Days 18 & 19:

OK, it may be from a different cause  , but the end result is the same for me as it was for Lili Von Shtupp: I'm pooped! These were my fifth and sixth days in a row, and after weeks of low-energy skiing we're suddenly having to ski for real. My legs simply can't keep up.

The season's first sighting of the Dump Truck. This is how you know it's gonna be a great day.
After Monday's semi-private skiing I was convinced that everyone was taking Tuesday off from work instead. Sure enough, after another 14 inches overnight the whole world showed up yesterday. Still hemmed in on limited terrain, the freshies went fast, but the snow was so dry that it refused to clump up even where it was tracked. Tracked snow skied nearly as well as the untracked.
I didn't take any action photos, so here are a few photos taken by friends.
I went until close to 2 p.m., but I should've quit earlier to save some leg for today -- when the storm total hit 32" and was still coming down (it hit 37" by the end of the day according to the MesoWest snotel). I was positively exhausted.

It just won't stop snowing.
Today it was just Skidog 'n me on 3" that fell overnight on top of the other 29" of unconsolidated snow. When they opened Wildcat they obviously had the gate to the right of the lift at the top closed until 30 seconds before we got off -- talk about timing! \
/ We lasted only until noon. I need to go back to work just to recover!

Spring Valley and Mount Baldy (and no, that's not a black & white photo)
What's it going to do tonight? Why, snow, of course! Another 6-8 inches is expected to fall overnight. It started snowing again at 6 p.m. It looks like I'm headed to the hot tub...
