Day 42: Full-on spring.
It took a while to soften on Saturday. but once it finally did it was spring skiing at its finest. The Spiny Chutes at 3 p.m. and West Rustler thereafter -- one run each on Jitterbug and Santa Claus -- were all divine spring corn. It was our last day skiing with Crocker and Liz before they departed for Iceland.
With evening temperatures in the Valley in the 60s we gathered friends and family for the season's first BBQ on our patio for dinner.
This season, however, is getting unsettling. The place is skiing just fine, really, but it's already mid-March and season-to-date snowfall of 250 inches is half of the annual average with only five weeks to go. Huh? :-k
