Day 49: Still smooth sift

My Friday afternoon meeting wrapped up early at 1:30 p.m., so I high-tailed it up to Alta and changed in the truck in the Wildcat parking lot to meet up for a couple of hours with Skidog, Tele Jon and Mira, who had flown in late the night before from NYC.

Snow from the storm a day earlier was of course well tracked out by the time I arrived, but it was still soft, fluffy and plowable. Areas like Baldy Shoulder that had opened that morning were kind of tough going as they hadn't been skied out enough to be smooth, but steeper lines like Jitterbug and No Name required repeat laps in smooth sifted sluff.
