"A groomer day for Marc."

I managed to coax Patricia out of the house and up to Alta today. This meant that we were skiing Patricia's way:

1. We strolled onto the lift at the ripe old hour of noon.
2. We took a few runs before relaxing on the deck at Alf's for a while.
3. We took a few more runs before going home.
4. All runs were low-intermediate groomers.

However, lest I sound like I'm whining, it was a beautiful afternoon in the Wasatch and I love watching her get better. Warm, sunny, and light breezes, although the high clouds started rolling in mid-afternoon ahead of the next cold front. Groomers were a delight today, and as should be expected with so much new snow lately they were soft and silent. My slight forays off-piste (cutting off a corner on a groomer, etc.) showed that the new snow was becoming much heavier in the warm sun. Even groomed runs were becoming slightly wet and sticky, depending on exposure to the sun and elevation. Crowds were down significantly from yesterday.

Happy Easter, everybody!

We skied Snowbird and Alta, Easter Sunday; it was our first day out skiing with a Maryland club. About 6 years ago we skied Alta and took pictures of our adventure going through the Glory Hole - it scared the crap out of me, it being my 3rd year skiing. This time through we thoroughly enjoyed it and will probably make a point of doing that run everytime we go, now that it has a history and all.

We spent most of the day stopping along the trails admiring the amazing views of the Rockies. What a beautiful place!

Thanks for the reviews and the pics, Admin. It was the appetizer for our feast of Utah powder.
