Day 57.
The good: The new snow that fell this week somehow stayed cold and winter-like through to Saturday morning. An inch of snow somehow materialized out of nowhere overnight. The sun shone brightly. We caught the rope drop to Baldy Shoulder, which still held all 34" of snow that fell this week untouched. With no one there, there was absolutely zero competition.
The bad: AmyZ apparently blew out her ACL on the first run. Special thanks to Sam from ASP for helping her get down the hill.
The ugly: By the time we dealt with Amy's injury, it was mid-morning before we made it over to Backside, and by that time the rapidly warming temperatures and strong, direct spring sun had done their damage. It was unskiable untracked shin-deep superglue.
