just because there closed doesn't mean there closed ! my friends mr. and mrs mrg skiers are here on a summer holiday taking in a little of this past winters activities . it's never to late to ski your first main chute of the season !! when they were here in the regular season it was snowing to much for alta to open up baldy . i only managed to get up there 3 days during the regular season myself . looking down some of the cravasses that have begun to open besides the cliff bands one could only guesstimiate that there's 40ish feet still to melt in main chute proper . peruivan gulch was closed to even hikers this past weekend for an archery contest .when asking some of the archers what they would do when a live target(deer) ran across their field of view would they shoot at it all i got was smiles. they said they wouldn't shoot at it it's not hunting season.
