Day 50: The midway point.

Today was the storm that wasn't meant to be. We were supposed to get maybe four inches all day, as this storm's impact was predicted to primarily dive south of us. Something went wrong on that forecast, however, for about 10 inches fell throughout the day and the forecast is now for 1-2 feet by the time it's done tomorrow evening.

Early on we only had about four inches, which meant that bumps and old tracks were firm beneath the new snow. But it kept coming at about an inch an hour all day. Bobby Danger, Tele Jon and I took repeated laps in a location I won't share, but let's just say that we managed to avoid the old tracks. We were getting face shots in close to a foot of new snow, and we were loving it.

We went over to Snowbird for one Tram lap through Great Scott, where it was surprisingly untracked. With the modest snowfall reports this morning many locals opted to stay home in favor of Sunday, and the visitors just weren't getting after it.

I ducked out around 2 p.m., trying to save some legs for the bigger day tomorrow.
