At the bottom you show a rating area which includes yellow and red. I've never seen such ratings and how does that compare to terrain we both know (Snowbird?).

I assume the yellow & red are just more gradations for typical black and blue terrain.

Blue = intermediate
Red = high intermediate
Black = expert
Yellow = double diamond/high expert

Some areas use this system quite well.

When I devised this system in the 1990's, I used Jackson as the model. Red is like single black at most ski areas. Black means Snowbird/Jackson/Squaw single black. Not that many areas have much yellow in-bounds.
