With sunny skies forecast for today and tomorrow, I went to one of the high-elevation circuits around here that Tony has visited several times. We've already discussed at length that most parts of the Alps could use new snow and it was certainly the case here. I spoke with some locals in the parking lot who recommended that I stay on the Andermatt, side, which was transitioning into early-spring conditions, rather than Gemstock on the other side of the valley. I wasn't completely convinced that was the right choice but I always try to ski with people from the region when possible so they showed me around.

The offpiste was in fuggedaboutit condition so it was onpiste only, where you follow the sun as it warmed the hardscrabble into sugar on many pitches by late morning.

I was so busy trying to keep up with the group that I only took a few pix:

Of course, I was happy to hop a ride on the train between Dieni and Sedrun:

I forgot how close together things are -- this line connects with the Aletsch Arena and other ski areas in eastern Valais.

I was gonna give your post a 'like' but decided I really didn't like this part of it:

Praying the coming Sunday night storm comes in much better for my locale than is forecast (only 2-6"). Even 6" doesn't overcome "fuggedaboutit" conditions.

Yes but remember that I was on mostly south-facing, so it's getting mank action. North-facing high-elevation (like Gemstock) will hopefully yield some chalky snow. Regardless, 6+ inches would be helpful.

Pretty hard to complain about a nice day in the mountains.
