Had some vouchers for a couple free tix to use up, and since this would be the my last time in the MWV this season, decided to head up to Attitash. We figured that the conditions would be pretty iffy since it poored rain over night in N. Conway. Boy were we right! Got up there about 930 and the lady in the ticket booth warned us of the icy conditions. Both Attitash and Bear Peak's summits were closed. But, what the heck we thought, we didnt have to pay for the tickets. Took a run at Bear Peak. Can we say boilerplate? Looks like they groomed before the rains came. Could barely get an edge in. Headed over to the Attitash side since it was more sunny thinking the snow would be a little softer. WRONG! Headed back to the car at 11am. The sun did seem to soften thing up a little as the morning went on, but maybe that was just my optimistic imagination. In all honesty, I don't even think they should have opened at all until the sun could soften things up. The conditions were that dangerous. Anyway, just pray for some snow. The North Country needs it!
