(Note from the Administrator: This report was originally posted on 3/27/00. He is an 10 year old
skier turned snow boarder. It was only his third time on the board so he
wanted to avoid steeps and moguls. We stayed on the groomed stuff most of
the day and frequented the half pipe. They do allow skiers in their half
pipe. I did sneak away for a few mogul runs down Wilfred's, Kachina,
Trillium, and Tim's Trauma. The bumps were soft but a little icy under the
corn on the less sun exposed trails. All the glades are bare. The groomed
stuff was the typical mashed potato piles on the sides with the scraped off
lane down the middle. It started raining Saturday around 2 or 3 in the
afternoon. There were lots of people around the lodge and lots of cars in
the lot but no lift lines most of the day.
Sunday was blue jay in the morning with lots of clouds in the
afternoon and a little cooler at the top than Saturday. Less people too.
Conditions were the same as Saturday. John did the half pipe all day and I
stuck to the mogul trails. There's still lots of good coverage on most of
the trails.
