After a warmup gift exchange at Sally's, I rousted my adult kids out of bed. Spenny has been here about a week and has been going up a bunch to ride the parks. He is sponsored by Bachelor so he's got a pass, even though he's spent most of this season in SLC. One of his other sponsors, 32 Boots, bought him a pass at Brighton. But he said the conditions there were harsh, so he came home.
My other son Carson, came in on Friday, he now lives in the Sugarhouse area in SLC and just started work for H2O Overdrive. He's been working weekends at PCMR coaching for Dave Reynolds, who heads up the snowboard team there. He didn't want to get left behind so he jumped on a plane and came home for Christmas as well.
Off to a slow start...
Hey, what the heck, it's Christmas and the boys are back in town. Snow started falling around mid day, softening things up quite a bit as the day progressed.
I was on skis so not to scratch up my new Lib Tech. Good ski snow but near the top of the lifts there's some gravel. I snapped some pics in the park.
Spenny cruising while Carson gets lined up. We headed in for Bloodies at the bar, I had mine with Tequila. It's a family tradition on Christmas...
This morning after a reported 2" new yesterday and overnight. It was wind-stiffened powder that softened most of the off piste, but there were still some hard spots in between the veins of fresh. Nice visibility, with more snow forecasted for tomorrow.
