i have monday off from school and a friend and myself are considering setting up the rock boards and heading to baldy.

will thunder still be somewhat skiable? or at least a few of the runs? honestly i would still drive up even if it wasn't really worth it, i just wanna ride. any word on when they are closing?... the web cam doesn't look very promising.

I'd be surprised if Baldy is open past tomorrow.

Liftie told me today that they will consider opening next weekend if there's enough snow on Thunder, but there aren't many lines to be had. Emile's is still in pretty good shape, and Skyline is doable, but it's thinning--same goes for Goldridge. Robin's is about done; wasn't worth the hassle today. Trees underneath 3 didn't really soften much and it's more technical skiing (sketchy) than anything else, although it's doable left of there. Even if Thunder is still OK, they got to keep Beginner's Gulch runnable, and it's gasping for breath.

I'd say last Sunday (the 6th) was the last best kinda marginal but still worth it day. (That's an official term, BTW.)

yah thats what i figured, guess the socal season officially ends today as SS/BB is closing today as well.

Garry Klassen skied Baldy today and was pleased with snow quality, but he also said it would be closed Monday.
