Yeah it's from last week. But no one talks about the rockies so here it is. Some minor snow over the week added up to real nice glades and the perfect groomers the Beav is known for. I much prefer this mountain to Breck or Keystone because it gets good snow, is never busy, and has great glades. Still not as good as Vail or A-Basin but fun nonetheless. Plus they hand out fresh baked cookies at the end of the day! So we spent most of the day in the woods of the rose bowl, we were the only ones in there all day and no one had been in there since the snow so we got a few inches of fresh nearly every turn all day. Plus the bottom of the run ended at a small cliff with tons of snow on top and below that was fun to launch off.
The weekend before this I took a trip down to Wolf Creek in far southern Colorado. This place had the goods. Spent the first day making steep powder turns in a foot of snow in and around the waterfall area, also hiking up to alberta peak for some great lines. The second day it only snowed a few inches so I hiked over to horseshoe bowl and up to alberta a few times and kicked around in the woods closer to the main area. Wolf Creek gets an insane amount of snow, way over 300 inches this year already, but the terrain in a bit odd. Really steep sections followed by really flat. The steep stuffs fun, but there's a lot of unfriendly traverses for snowboarders. If you want powder though, you're more than likely going to find it at wolf creek.
Anyway here's a few shots from the Beav last thursday:
