this was a great day! thanks especiall to JC who works at the area and is a super nice guy....all the people at the resort were very friendly and having a great time.the base lodge is exc...nice little lounge upsatirs as well.plenty of room---
about the skiing.FANTASTIC...loads of snow--everything soft and complete coverage....the only prob was the triple was running slower than the dbl chair to the top. the dbl hauls ass---you get to the top real quick!
the runs like MOHAWK are a great scenic journey---the sun was coming in and out--and looking out in the distance from this mt is just plain beautiful.a special berkshire feeling!
the dips and rolls are cool...this is a novice trail that goes all over the place for about a mile and a half....genius was used here in trail design!
later my girlfriend took a short break...shes a lower intermediate.i went and tried GRIZZLY and the BEAST expert trails....the BEAST was incred! steep and deep---i filmed with a video camera as i tackled the trail...its only about 6 feet wide with moguls and a GLADE kinda setting.what a rush---i fell at one point into deep pdr.the camera survived--it did not get wet cause i held it straight up.lucky.....
after this run...it was time for a drink and a rest!my hands were shaking a bit.but it was good feeling--the adrenalin made me fight that trail to get to the bottom of it.i understand UMASS trail there is also steep as hell--but i did not get to ski that.prob next time...
this MT is exc....i have not skied it since the late 70s....it has only gotten better, while retaining that old world skiing feel that so many people love....i will definitely be going back.the snow was getting a bit sticky---but theres so much of it--that they can keep going for a few more weeks im sure!---- brian
