i finally finished clases up and got a chance to get out. i missed the powder day by one day. BS had about 9" of fresh on wednesday. there was some left overs, but a lot of chop and crust too (see pic). soft and manueverable chop and crust though (except for the top of Otter slide). i did 4 laps on the tram today. 3rd gully - good wind pillows of pow and random chop. best snow i found all day actually. however there was some sections of boilerplate windblown after the choke in the middle of the chute. 2nd gully a lot more crusty. 1st gully same crust, but the lower half looked a lot more soft and powdery. the wind blew in the snow. liberty bowl was chopped up pretty good, but again, it was a soft chop for the most part. lenin and marx was tracked up, but the dictator chutes rode well.

groomers kicked ass. Elk Park Ridge is still not groomed. swifty park has some unique features. ambush park has one larger jump (~40') set up, but the snowguns were going and vis was bad. the superpipe is getting there. i'd give it another week or so before it's ready to go. they were blowing the sh** out of the terrain park. they have enough snow to last them the season. i expect big things. ambush park also had some more advanced jibs set up too.

Hope you classes went well hamdog. What are you studying?

I really wish there was a nice park at any of the mountains I've called home. I had a great time hitting the kiddie park in winter park. I used to ride the pipe at boreal when I lived in reno a long time ago, but none of the SOCO resorts ever built a pipe until recently. I may journey to angelfire a few times this year as I hear they have a nice set-up. I love picnic tables. :)
