(Note from the Administrator: This report was originally posted on 12/24/99. My first night skiing since we made the
> big move up here 18 months ago....
>
> One way down from the top and two ways down from the
> middle is what it boiled down to at Bolton in the PM.
> They're blowing snow at a "blinding" pace on the upper
> run with more pitch (no trail names, sorry) so once
> that's open (this Saturday?) night skiing might be worth
> it. As it was mostly low angle stuff with little character
> and zero bumps, but a little fluff on the sides to give
> you something to do.
>
> I tried out the new-to-me K2 Fours for the first time and
> wasn't disappointed, though clearly not an adequate shake
> down arena. Very easy to vary turn shape an outstanding
> edge grip at moderate speeds.
>
> I felt a bit embarassed to duck a rope to access the children's
> learning area, but hey, there was loose snow in there and
> after several weeks of skiing abstainence I'm entitled. At
> least that's the story I'm sticking with. They're charging
> $21 for 6-10pm but you can start earlier than that. With 35
> minutes lift to door from my pad in Burlington its not a bad
> deal. No night skiing on Christmas Eve (hey, the snowmaking
> elves need the night off!)but I think they're on for Saturday.
>
> All in all worth it if you're in bad need of a ski fix, but
> honestly they need to put up a Nastar course or something to
> provide a little more interest. The place looks to be in
> pretty good shape in general, with a decent amount of natural
> laying around and excellent manmade base.
