To start out my 41st birthday, I took a hike up Bone
Mtn at Bolton. Climbed Cobrass (not Sherman's) to the
summit. The trails and woods on the upper mountain
(lift 4 area) have good snow that's very firm in the
AM. Not much mud! Areas of Cobrass were still 5' deep.
Wind picked up at 2700' then some more on the summit.
Views were wonderful. Camels Hump, Whiteface,
Mansfield, Worcester Range. From the firetower I saw
some other folks strapping into some tele's but they
were already on their way down when I started gearing
up. Took a great run down Spillway. Little firm at the
top but still lots of fun. Minor dirt patches easily
avoidable. Able to ski to Beach Seal and right to the
lodge. One could feel the snow softening all the way
down. It was a great morning. Followed by a spirited
paddle on the Waterbury Resovior with my two
daughters. It's why we settle for less money to live
in Vermont.

Jeff

P.S. For a shorter run, they have groomed the Half
Pipe flat leaving lower Practice Slope with 2-4' of
base across the slope.
