Another foot of fresh; another picture perfect day at Burke. They opened the lifts early (like 8:12 and technically they don't open 'til 9). Being unable to sleep after 6 am this morning (snow fever) I managed to dig out my outhouse, plus the path to my house, office, and even unburied my snow covered grill with side burner to make pancakes. I then swung by a friends for coffee and was still there with plenty of time to catch one of the first rides up. I took my first run down fox's folly and enjoyed fresh tracks all the way down skiers right. The best I have ridden it all year. Sad to say the first accident had already occurred on this run when Wild Bill broke his leg.

I then headed to Wilderness and Lew's Leap, after that jumped in on the upper Powerline being careful not to be beheaded because there is so much snow you almost hit the cable as you criss cross the shoot. After this windrifted run, one of which sent me flaying on my head, thank goodness for helmets, I switched back to the west side. Ledges was killer then the natural 1/2 pipe of Mountain Marsh. After that I checked into the woods for a few runs off the east side. Took a wild ride down Doug's and I ended with a blazing run down Powderhorn before I had to return to my shop to at least give the vague appearance of being in business!
