There was plenty of fresh powder, light crowds (despite the holiday weekend) and nice weather. I hadn't been to Burke in a couple of years, but didn't notice many changes. The new snow was over a slightly crusty base.

The trip to Owl's Head marked my first time skiing outside of the US. The mountain was easy to get to, a bargain ($78 Cdn for 3 lift tickets), excellent snow, good trail variety, many lifts, beautiful scenery and quite crowded. The trails featured steeps, lake views, glades, bumps, groomed cruisers, fresh powder and only a few thin spots.

Jay on 2/21 had the deepest base I've skied this season with a couple of inches of new snow and some falling snow. The Green Mtn Freezer lived up to its name and we left that for the Stateside chairs. The Stateside area had less wind, more snow and fewer wind scoured sections of the trail. The woods were in great condition despite the holiday crowds from earlier in the weekend.

At one point I noticed a fairly big line for the T bar while the Green Mtn Flyer was ski on. The position of this lift may have been a mistake given the long windy ride to ski icy trails. I had a great time skiing Jay.
