CA BC Trip?

So, I'm supposed to fly out on Thursday for a 4 day backcountry trip north of Lake Tahoe. It is to a cabin about 7 miles from Donner Pass. Everything I've read about the Sierra this season tells me I might be better off staying home and hitting up my usual haunts...

I'll be out a little bit of money (probably about $250), but I can ride for free around here and I'd rather do that if it'll be more fun.

Your thoughts?

Stay home or try to postpone at least a month for better snow odds. Nothing significant happening in the Sierra for at least another week. Or try to find something comparable in western Canada, which is having an outstanding season.

Or you could go play at the casinos and turn that $250 loss, to a good $1000 loss, hehehe.
They better get some snow, I need a good base to start building up.
I have a wedding in lake tahoe near the end of March!
