Calgary area this year?

I've been lazy and haven't booked any flights yet, so I was poking around today and was astonished at how much they've gone up. I flew in and out of SLC for 294 canadian last year, now the cheapest I can find is well over 800 bux, a month out!

I can get cheaper stuff into Calgary and Van. I could do Whistler, but I don't really know where to stay out there. Calgary + car = much more variety as well, and I'd really like to try out Kicking Horse.

So can anyone report on the Calgary area snowfall this year? There's not a lot of posts in general, and unless I'm blind, nothing on Kicking Horse. They're reporting a whopping 7cm in the last 48 hours, so it doesn't sound like they're getting much of anything.

Skier submitted reports at:
http://www.powderwatch.com/snowreports/snowreports.php and
http://www.cdnrockiesskireports.ca/Default.aspx .

November was above average but December was fairly dry and conditions around Christmas were not great. January was excellent with lots of snow all over western Canada. Not that much snow in February so far, like most of the West. Snow base should be adequate at most places from the big January.

I will be at Sun Peaks Sunday/Monday and put up a report next week.

Excellent, I'll wait for your report!

I had actually booked to come out this week, but one thing led to another...

just got back from a week in Banff. Until Tuesday it was horrible, but still a pretty good base at sunshine and in the backbowls at lake louise, but since wednesday it has been awsome. Sunshine has been gettting dumped on and looks like there is more to come.
