this will be a good follow up to the previous poster's trip from the previous day. i hit up cannon for their two-fer super bowl sunday deal. regardless of conditions, skiing cannon for $22 is always one of the best bargains in N.E.

i was VERY impressed with the work the groomers did. most trails were open except, mid/low hard, profile, skylight, vista way, and the glades. conditions were better than i had hoped for, all groomed with no thin cover. closed trails were unskiable, you literally could not even stand still on the bulletproof.

cannon was busy for a sunday, and the crowd was very un-cannon like. i even saw jeans and a greenbaypackers jacket. people were skiing black diamonds like they believed they were blacks at lesser mountains. so people were getting hurt and they started closing trails

early morning, the front facing trails were incredible considering recent weather. Polly's Folly was AWESOME! only loose snow on the mountain, and only trail to bump up as the day went on. as the day progressed, trails were closed one by one starting with avalanche, then paully's cut off, then zoomer. asked patrol and they said it was gettin unsafe. i saw more unsafe conditions in natural snow thin cover conditions a month ago, i'm sure it's cause newbies were hurting themselves on the diamonds... it wasn't 'that' bad. actually, very comparable to a month ago.

upper mountain wasn't great snow, probably comparable to the lower mountain on saturday. lower mountain was in good shape, but with the traffic, it got slightly worn out.

winds were feirce, but the temp was tolerable. a great day overall, and cannon has a base that will last them longer than the area will actually stay open.

i'll post pictures and a more detailed report within the next 48 hours.
