Chugach Powder Guides - Avalanche 3/4/25

This avalanche sounds horrific:

The victims were buried by 40-100 feet of avalanche debris according to the professional backcountry guides with Chugach Powder Guides. The slide is believed to have ran close to 3,000 vertical feet and a half mile long. Considering the immense depth of debris, the guides were unable to recover the buried skiers.

What is very strange is that the guide was not impacted? Only the Chugach Powder Guides 'guide' and another skier survived? Strange, often the guide goes first. Maybe he could see the avalanche and got out of the way.
