Closing Dates

Late last week Mammoth finally announced it will be open until Memorial Day with Chairs 1,3 and the gondola. But it looks like yesterday was the end for Chair 2. Temps are 40's in the morning and 60's midday with reported base of 1-3 feet. With the low snow year Tioga Pass to Yosemite opened May 11, the earliest in 20 years. So next weekend will be like the July 4th holiday the last 2 years: one day ski, one day hike, one day river rafting.

97-inch mid-mountain base
22 degrees
Powdr Corp closed the mountain for the season yesterday.

A-basin in Colorado has one more week to go. They plan to close June 3 though they also have plenty of snow to go further. But they need to shut down that early this year so they can build their new Montezuma bowl lift.

I'll try to post tonight on the skiing this past weekend. Quite good actually.
