Called up fellow coach and got a lift to Cochran's for an afternoon of training. Not alot of base, but firm -- excellent training snow, and more than enough to set a course. We ran a slalom on the Race Trail (dual on the upper half as the conditions deteriorated on the lower steeps). Rode the lift several times with an ex-U.S. Teamer and former Hahnenkamm champ. Great guy. Kids are skiing well. Finished the day with my first bombing run of the season. It was fast and bumpy and a thrill as always. Cochran's is probably the only ski area in the east that has 100% of its terrain open.
