Is that the Sand Dune National Monument? Little known fact Colorado has the highest sand dunes in the US, something like 700 vertical. World record is ~1,100 in Namibia.

La dune du Pilat near Bordeaux (France) is pretty impressive. I just read the vert was only 104 meters, but it's much more impressive that the dunes I've skied on the shore of Lake Erie.

Great Sand Dunes National Park now. About 4-5 years ago they significantly expanded it and renamed it (feds and Nature Conservancy bought a huge ranch or two and put much of it into the park, with some into nat'l forest). Tallest dune in the field is ~750 feet. The tallest dune over my shoulder (to the left) in the last pic of my TR is ~650 feet tall. The below might add some perspective...
