I did NOT ski and that was a shame because the conditions were there .... <BR>We tried to bag Athabasca and postholed up to our thighs and had to turn back 1,500 feet below the summit - fantastic powder and I wished we had our boards 'cuz it would have been epic on the North Glacier; I led the descent through untracked powder in my plastic boots and could feel the floating sensation for a moment under me, especially once past the bergschrund and the crevasse immediately after. From the Icefields Parkway, we saw tracks on the nearby Parker Ridge.
