HELP THE UTAH AVALANCHE CENTER
GET STATE SUPPORT!
Dear Fellow Supporters of the Utah Avalanche Center,
As you may know, the Utah State Legislature is considering a much-needed increase in State funding to the Utah Avalanche Center. The Natural Resources Committee has passed a recommendation for increased State funding to the Utah Avalanche Center, and now it is up to the Executive Appropriations Committee to dedicate some of the State surplus to this valuable service.
They will make this decision some time in the next 10 days, so your timely support is important.
You can make a difference in getting the UAC the state support it needs. Most legislators only hear from lobbyists and they love to hear from their constituents. If a legislator gets five personal calls or e-mails from a constituent on any particular subject, that means that there is a lot of support.
Please help support the UAC by preparing a personal e-mail from our legislative fact sheet or calling your representative. We provide all of the information you will need at the end of this message.
You don’t need to spend a lot of time. Just saying that you support increased funding to the UAC is enough, but the more personal you can make your e-mail or call, the more weight it carries with legislators.
We especially need support from rural areas, so even if you live on the Wasatch Front or Wasatch Back, please contact your friends in rural areas who may benefit from better avalanche services in their area.
The Utah Avalanche Center exists for -- and thrives because of -- people like you who love to play in Utah's legendary snow. Thank you so much for taking a moment to help the UAC get the State funding it needs.
