Not much exciting to announce except that the weather is glorious. Today I decided on skis as the snow is firm and smooth. We have a 36" base, probably fairly normal for this time of year. The coverage is really good and this is virtually all natural snow. The authorities are saying 99" of snowfall so far here, so go and subtract whatever you'd like. It's still a pretty healthy number.

About half way up Pine with Thunderbird skiing pretty good.

Last week I heard was really good. But I was forced into going to Hawaii and missed some pow. So I went windsurfing at Outer Sprecklesville Reef instead. Sail= 4.7
Surf= 10-12' Hawaiian

Looking up at the lower part of the upper mountain from the traverse between Pine and Skyliner.

The view towards the top of Skyliner lift with radiation fog settled over Bend. This pattern is not uncommon at this time of year with an inversion. The cold socks in the valleys with warm, clear conditions in the mountains.

Why isn't Summit open yet? Or Outback/Northwest?

I'll bite. My guess is for the typical reasons - patrol is still stringing ropes, etc... and there are not enough people to justify it yet.

Answer to question. Lava and snow depth

Question for Schubwa. Did you drop in on any bombs outside at Sprecs. 10-12 Hawian must have been over double mast high ? Sounds intense.

Lava and snow depth
From Schubwa's 3rd pic coverage does not look to be an issue on the upper mountain. I've skied up there on a ~4 foot base myself, not that many problems. One of the virtues of not being a super steep mountain.
