After asking lots of questions about Deseret Peak, we went out there yesterday morning, and made a loop out of it. Beautiful place and a fairly straightforward, easy hike. Here are some sweet pictures. All route information about this place can be found at summitpost.org (http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock ... -peak.html)

Also ski Gunsight this morning. Snow is melting, but not to fast. Decent skiing for almost August. I wouldn't go up there unless one really has a hankering to ski, because its not nearly as good as it was last weekend. Over 20 days skiing so far this summer.

A cell phone pic from the way out.

Not looking like a lot of snow left in the Wasatch in general. Does much/any stick it out through the entire summer and fall? Given the volume of snow I'd have to think some patches stay right through. Just curious as the Wasatch is a bit lower than over this way.

I think Timp has a little glacier on it. But I'm not sure, I'm new around here.

I was planning on going up to the tetons to get my kicks in if Utah snow doesn't persist. Either way my boots are going back to Salomon this week so I might be out for a little while unless someone around these parts can come up with a BSL of ~315 I can barrow for a while.

plenty of snow out behind the bird and beyond but, yer gonna have to avoid super hero craigs raised fossil'd tracks. north facing superior should have plenty o turns as well. yearround turns are stock out there as craigis on month 225 0r 226 in a row.
