discount tix for Summit Co. resorts?

We're headed to Summit County Ap. 2 for 5 days of skiing and wondering what's the best strategy for buying lift tix. In the past we've used the King Sooper, but the last time we went (for MLK Day), the discount was rather puny. I see that I can get a 5-day, multi-resort ticket on-line for about $300 by buying 7 days in advance, and was wondering if anyone knows whether price is any better at the King Sooper.

Thanks for any advice.

That is a good choice for you and your family in terms of terrain and spring break snow conditions. And it should be less crowded than earlier in the season. But you do need to try Mt. Bachelor on one of these spring trips.

The best price would be for you to shoulder tap season pass holders and see if they will let you buy a discount ticket on their pass. Pass holders can buy 4 a day. I think that during the high season it was $50 a day. In April it should be a bit less than that.

I just checked the prices with a season pass holder (Colorado Pass with Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge and A-Basin) for that time, it varies from $37 to $50 per day depending on the resort. At that time in the season you would probably have some luck with that method because most of us know whether or not we have any friends who will need them this season by then. Heck, if I'm around that weekend (and I likely will be) I'd be happy to hook you up. I've only used one and have committed 1-2 more which leaves me with 7-8 left...

keep an eye on the Copper website. If I recall correctly, they sometimes have the 4 passes for $100 deal. I rarely check the website anymore so that might be long gone.

also, don't forget to go tubing at Copper! Me and my friends had a pants-peeing time doing it a few years ago!!

Copper and Winter Park offer 4 passes for $99 at the beginning of the season but they cut off sales about the same time they cut off season pass sales. I believe they have also put in a requirement to be present when purchased but I'm not positive. People were buying them and then selling for a profit and the resorts didn't like it.

Tubing is also available at Keystone.

I know you have to buy the 4 packs in person and usually by early November at Keystone and Copper. It's too bad they had to change that policy. I know we have taken at least 1 less trip there becasue we couldn't fit it in the budget without a better lift ticket discount. Being in the Midwest we can't buy those in person and our big trip for the year is usually planned well in advance so we could purchase before the deadline. Hope you can find a good deal and have some great weather in April.

Just got back from 2/13-2/17. Best deal I found was to get a Peaks Card online. I got a 4-6 day pass with an option to go to Vail/B.C. on I believe 2 days for $262. It was actually a little more at King Soopers.
