Eldora acquired by Powdr Corp

As the title says. Lots of rumors for the past 3+ months about a sale and transaction finally closed. More details later when I'm not on an airport shuttle.

A very basic, preliminary article by the Daily Camera. I first heard rumors in late Feb regarding a sale then a lot of rumors floating around by late March.

Supposedly 'no changes' to day to day management, pricing, etc... for the coming season. I'll wait and see. Powder has historically come in and chopped significant $ from the operating budget every time they acquire a new place as one of the very first items they do. It will be interesting to see if they follow the script again since Eldora was run so bare bones for the most part, I'm just not sure what they would be able to cut.

A bit more detailed one from the Denver Post:

Quick primer video on the 3 new trails that Eldora will be opening this year.

Boulder County still (somehow) has a say on if the new 6 pack goes in on the frontside next season (17-18), but pretty likely to happen IMHO. All other renovations approved in the master plan seem a lot iffier to me for the short term. The trails, snowmaking, slightly upgraded base lodges, and a new 6 pack is a fair bit of money that you would think Powd'r would likely want to start seeing some returns on before throwing much more $ at the place.

Fixed that in-line video for ya, EMSC. If you hover your mouse over the "facebookvideo" BBcode button, it'll show you the format that the link has to be in. It has to be precisely in that format to work (it substitutes certain HTML code by pulling relevant info from the link -- random HTML embeds are forbidden by the forum software for security reasons).
