Another weekend of only one day. Grumble, grumble, work, grumble, grumble. Oh well, that's life for the moment.

Windy. Would it really be an Eldora report without that one word? Warm for January too, but the wind kept things reasonably cool. And rather firm and scrapy on the groomers. Good thing I only spent the equivalent of about a run or two of combined time on groomed sections. The trees had a bit of variable snow, mostly soft, a bit of wind consolidated where it hadn't been skied, but also some very soft spots where the wind blew in an inch of fluff. Skiing alone again today.

First I hit IP liftline as my warm-up run, then Placer glade which was better than I expected, but still a bit dodgy on the prime pitch. I then headed to Corona chair on the back for a solid dozen laps. Being alone and all, I counted today. 3 Salto, only 1 top to bottom on West Ridge, and 8 in Moose glades. Moose is fairly big and has about 4 different major sections/lines though so that's somewhat misleading. Moose just opened this week. Unfortunately for me, the one section is a bit hidden and few hit it just like I suspected; but leading to a nice core shot. Dooh! :( Surprisingly good coverage on the main lines in the various glades, but not quite enough for exploratory mode (though close). Exception to the rule - They opened lower West Ridge this week as well which was skiable, but very thin and lots of crap to avoid on the lower sections. Lower has snowmaking pipe, but they have yet to blow anything on that section (guns are set for Muleshoe right now).

By 2:30 the whole of the back side is in the shadows this time of year, so by 2:45 I started heading toward the front again, hitting a couple more laps on IP liftline/trees before calling it a day at 3:30 with 25K of vert (I didn't start till ~10:30, but basically skipped lunch - power bar). I only had a cell phone camera, but ended up with a lot more pics than I remembered taking!
