Fun, but need more snow this year. Eldora snotel site is at only ~85% of normal. Too bad I didn't start posting last year. A lot of days last season at Eldora like Admin is recently posting about Alta (really!).
Some groups away at Loveland for a race, others at FIS races, and no D team on Sunday this week and wife also away; so a day of skiing backside by myself and even exploring a few hidden woods lines with potential. Only a few inches (like 3-4) from the big storms for Eldora thus far. Though the heaviest squalls were dumping (of course) as I left today (prob at 2" per hr rate). Eldora's biggest snows come from 'wraparound' or 'upslope' events so not too big a surprise for me. Much/most of the rest of Colorado is getting hit pretty decently by this storm cycle.
Combination of sun & snow squalls today for Eldora - some storms like this one just have a tough time getting moisture over the continental divide to where Eldora is. I hit a several rocks/logs but only minor damage to my rock skis. At least the steep stuff is open. Though with a rope line/traverse through the woods about 2/3 way down Westridge.
Anyway, I'm trying to get pics of different areas of the hill so today some backside stuff...
