Glad Eldora got 6" Saturday; surprisingly as much as Alta from the last storm.

Surfaces were pretty good and while you could find the firm under surface plenty, it skied so much more smoothly and easily this week. We decided to continue to park down at the beginner zone and zig zag our way to the upper lifts and then back. It gives a chance for Jr to get warmed up and then back into his true comfort zone for a run or so before we leave. Several runs off the top today and Jr is doing great stuff and learning fast. He's still kind of tentative on the 'steeper' pitches of the blues, but tackles them with no fear or etc.. either.

I sense some big progress being made and it's a matter of miles and a few tweaks here and there for a bit. Then mid-season I'll add poles into the mix and then work on parallel skiing and getting out of the wedge later in the season (or something like that). Right now it's just great to be back most of the day on the upper lifts. Though a surprising amount of people skiing way too fast in the slow zone trail on the upper mtn..

Really enjoying the trip reports about Eldora. Since my buddy is now the GM, I hope to get up there soon. Your reports are helping to know what to expect.

Glad to hear of direct interest in TR's from Eldo. When constitutes 'soon'?

Heard that at least one natural snow trail is finally open (Jolly Jug Glades). Still snowmaking going on for a bit though: 7 or 8 more trails at least with snowmaking capability to get opened up unless mother nature provides big snows quickly (lots of potential for a couple inches here or there over the next 10 days).

Hopefully EMSC will be expanding his horizons soon with the RMSP. Winter Park reports have been quite good lately.
