Mostly a quick trip for a few snowboarding runs.

A beautiful and fairly warm day out (for this time of year). Temps were probably up close to the freezing mark. The good news of the week was the opening of Corona lift on the backside. The bad news was the lift broke down early and was closed until nearly 1pm. This pushed way too many people onto Hornblower trail. I would have taken a picture of it if I didn't think I would get run over while stopping to do so.

Anyway, after a few laps on Indian Peaks, I got hungry and went in for a short break (I only got on-hill at 11am, but had skipped having any breakfast). Of course all of the ski team was around as they are already in Holiday camp mode. Schools over this way have 2 full weeks off.

Snow was mostly man made, with a decent amount of fluff on top withe exception of International being a bit scratchy and Corona itself was kind of a firm chalky snowmaking surface. Actually much more pleasant than usual. Typical year it's more like a cue ball since the wind blasts that run so hard. So prop's to the snowmaking team. Snow guns are now set up on Chute and LaBelle for whenever they re-start (surprised they were not blowing today - didn't seem THAT warm).

You can tell the sometimes subtle, sometimes not influences of Eldora's new GM. Slightly, though not massively different snowmaking priority/order. Fresh paint and signage in the base area. A bit more training time/space for the various race teams.

After the short lunch I headed back to Corona for a few runs - even hitting Cascade which hasn't been open in several years, but this year has even had snowmaking. Everyone was very surprised that Bryan Glade was opened with apparently a new exit further down the canyon vs pushed out onto the bottom of Muleshoe.

I didn't really go all that long with a due date for my wife only a few days from now, you just never know. I stopped a bit before 3pm and figure it'll be my last turns for a little while.
