More of the same with changes (finally!) in the air.

Still only one trail open at Eldora (plus a short beginner area trail), so today I lapped it exclusively on a snowboard. But at least they were blowing snow when I arrived on about 2/3 of Jolly Jug, the base area and Windmill. Windmill looks like it is getting close to opening. Maybe only one more night of snowmaking required. Jolly Jug though has hardly any snow blown on the top section or the Sunset portion of the trail. It will be days of around the clock to open it.

Temps today felt positively frigid compared to the past two weeks, though it was warm enough to get up around the freezing mark today meaning that by late morning they had to shut the snowmaking off. Some real snow showers were around and in-n-out during the day which made it feel like oh, say early November... Much of Colo has gotten 2-5" during this week, but not Eldora which has been just out of the snow direction... However 5-10" is forecast for all of the central and northern mountains this weekend with other smaller storms to follow and perhaps most of important of all for the moment = temps cold enough for round the clock snowmaking for many days to come. Every thing helps at this point.

At least it felt like hope was in the air as to a coming real winter.

I think I got 14 laps in today, but it could have been 15. I lost track at some point. Overall this horrible start to the season means that even the tiniest new detail feels report-able as news.
