First day of Spring and more snow.

The dividing line for the snow/rain change over reached midway into the Laurentian hills during last Wednesday’s storm but thankfully the Laurentian Snow Belt had just enough elevation to keep the percip as all snow ( 8 “). Last night the temperatures dropped like a rock and the wind started to crank out of the north leaving us with wind blown dried out snow to ski on. Great work out as we did our own grooming by skiing the trails and cutting up the snow. What else is there to say except that this is probably the best year ever north of the St Lawrence.

Didn't make it to Tremblant (late getting the car out of the garage and daughter in the car), decided on Mt Ste-Marie instead. It was real nice!!! :P

Snowpack isn't going anywhere with the current temps. :D

Nice pic of Mont Alta lodge. 8)

Probably a good choice you didn’t go to Tremblant as the operators who groomed the snow on Thursday before it had a chance to dry out ended up with granular on Friday morning as they compressed the water into the snow and didn’t allow it to evaporate on its own. Should be a great spring as hoping to make turns on Plante into May as base depths on the eastern side of the valley appear even deeper.

Groomed or not groomed the old snowflake at Tremblant doesn’t stand much of a chance as the hordes of humanity that descend upon their trails doesn’t give the snow a fighting chance. This is why I just like to take off and find my own snow.
