As expected, higher elevations in Utah picked up some snow overnight, the first of the season for us. Here's an assortment of webcam views just captured:

This ain't Vermont, we don't ski frost around here. [-(
 
I had lunch at squatters and overheard some people talking about others who made "first turns"today. I also saw some skiies on cars today so I don't now maybe the Vermonters of Utah where out.

Squatters downtown SLC or Squatters Park City? If the latter, well, there are some low angle grassy slopes in the PC group of resorts. Admin and I tend to focus on the real ski areas. :stir:
 
Meh.... This is the 3rd snow this month in Colo. Plus at least one snow up real high in August (like 13K +).

None of this will stick around for more than a couple days. I'll be more excited when snows actually start accumulating on the North facing terrain. A few more weeks for that point to hit.

No snowmaking going on just yet over this way and the forecast is to have a big warm up this weekend/early next week (to low 80's in Denver), so it may be a bit before they can get started on the WROD's.

Who needs the same old boring powder, day-in, day-out? You're the one that commenting that people in Utah didn't ski frost.

It is? Really? Yeah, sure...a tib/fib fracture from slamming into a rock right before the season starts would be a freakin' ball.

Face it. We're simply not that desperate here as compared to the near constant desperation and hand-wringing of the Northeast. I know. I used to live there and be like that.
