Alta, Aspen/Snowmass, Jackson Hole and Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows have partnered to form the Mountain Collective, a pass for the 2012-13 season. The Mountain Collective Pass goes on sale today and is available online through an exclusive technology, distribution and marketing partnership with Liftopia at www.TheMountainCollective.com.

For $349, The Mountain Collective Pass includes two free days at each of the four destinations, plus a 50 percent discount on unlimited lift tickets at each of the destinations, once the complimentary days are used. In addition, passholders will receive exclusive lodging deals throughout the season. Collectively the pass grants access to eight mountains with more than 16,000 acres of terrain, over 100 lifts and an unmatched reputation for snow quality and quantity. The pass will also be available for children (ages 12 and under) for $229.

The news was embargoed until 9am this morning, at which time it went live as the lead story on our home page.

I've since learned that the deal means that Alta season pass holders also get unlimited half price day tickets at the partner resorts.
